Tip: See Metal Information Immediately

Have you ever wanted to know the details of a metal polygon without having to open the Metal Properties window?

A new feature in the Sonnet Project Editor displays information about an object in your layout. Just move your cursor over the object and a small window pops up with the information about that object.

For example, moving your cursor over a metal polygon shows you the metal name, loss characteristics, and mesh settings.

This feature is off by default, but can be turned on by using View  Info Hover Over in the project editor menu. Select the command again to turn it back off. If you want to turn this feature on all the time, go into File ⇒ Preferences and select “Object Info Default” in the Hover Over section.

Shortcut-Key Mapping for Common Tasks

If you are the type of person who hates using menus, then check out the new keyboard shortcut feature in Sonnet 12.

You can create custom hot keys for your commonly used menu commands in the project editor, response viewer, current density viewer and far field viewer.

For example, instead of going into the menus each time to toggle Info Hover Over on and off, you may set a Hot Key so that whenever the letter “h” is pressed on the keyboard, the project editor automatically toggles the “Info Hover Over” mode.

To access this feature, select File Preferences in the desired program. In the Preferences dialog box which appears, click on the General tab, then click on the Keyboard button. For more details about creating hot keys, click on the Help button on the Keyboard dialog box.
