Creative Circuit Design Contest

Submit your most creative and unique designs to Sonnet Software for a chance to win some great prizes!

We are looking for innovative circuit designs that you created using Sonnet Software. Send a Sonnet Project Archive file (.ZON) file to contest@sonnetsoftware.com with a brief description of your circuit and why you think it is unique. This contest is limited only by your imagination and you can submit as many entries as you wish.

Do you already have a paper that you have published or presented? Send the circuit and paper to us- we are interested to see what you have created using our software.

 


The first prize winner will receive an 8G iPod Touch, the second prize winner will receive a $100 gift card to Newegg.com and the third prize winner will receive $50 gift card to Newegg.com. Winners and their designs will be showcased in a future issue of the Sonnet Insider, as well as on our website. See below for official rules of the contest.

The contest:
From 3 February 2010 through 1 June 2010 Sonnet Software, Inc. will promote, by means online advertising  and at www.sonnetsoftware.com, along with all other web pages run by Sonnet Software, Inc.,  the opportunity to submit entries to win a grand prize as detailed below.

Eligibility:
In order to submit entries, contestants must use the Sonnet Suites, including but not limited to Sonnet Lite, Sonnet Lite Plus, Sonnet Level 2 Basic, Sonnet Level 2 Silver, Sonnet Level 3 Gold, and Sonnet Professional. Any individuals (including but not limited to employees, consultants, independent contractors, and interns) who have, within the past six months, performed services for Sonnet Software, Inc. or any organizations responsible for sponsoring, fulfilling, administering, advertising or promoting the contest or supplying the prize, and/or their respective parent, subsidiary, affiliated and successor companies, and immediate family and household members of such individuals, are not eligible to enter or play. "Immediate family members" shall mean parents, stepparents, children, stepchildren, siblings, stepsiblings, or spouses. "Household members" shall mean people who share the same residence at least three months in one calendar year.

How to enter:
(I) Complete and send in a .ZON file to contest@sonnetsoftware.com with the subject line of Creative Circuit Design Contest and include a brief description of the circuit and why you think it is unique. If the circuit submitted has been presented or published, the published or presented paper must be included with entry. All contest entries become the property of Sonnet Software, Inc. and will not be returned and may be used by Sonnet Software, Inc. for any purpose and in any media in perpetuity.

Qualified Entries: 
To be qualified for the Contest, an entry must include one (1) circuit design using Sonnet’s Software: Sonnet Lite or any of the Sonnet Professional Suites. In addition, the design description must (a) be in the English language; (b) file may be no larger than 25MB; (c) be entirely the original work of the entrant, not be copied from any other source; (d) be created solely by the entrant; (e) entrant can use a circuit from a previously written paper as long as the paper is submitted with the circuit; (f) not be in violation of or conflict with the trademark, copyright, rights of privacy, rights of publicity or any other rights, of any kind or nature, of any other person or entity; and (h) not include any language or other content that is indecent, inappropriate, morally objectionable or otherwise unfit for dissemination or broadcast, as determined by the SPONSOR in its discretion. Entries not satisfying these criteria in any respect will be disqualified. If the SPONSOR, in its sole discretion, has reason to believe that any entry contains any material that may infringe or violate any law or any rights of a third party, or that the use or broadcast or such entry in the manner described herein may infringe or violate any law or any rights of a third party, the SPONSOR may immediately disqualify such entry and take any other measures the SPONSOR may deem appropriate. No limit on the number of entries per person.

How to win:
Judging will commence at the time the Contest begins and continue until all entries submitted prior to the Contest end time have been reviewed. The Contest judge(s) shall be such person(s) as may be selected by the SPONSOR from time to time in its sole discretion (the "Judge"). The Judge will select one (1) Contest Winner, based on the following criteria, weighted equally: (a) originality; (b) creativity; (c) uniqueness; and (d) overall quality of explanation in the description. In the event of a tie, tied entries will be re-judged based solely on the criteria of overall quality of the circuit design. The Contest Winner will be notified on or about July 31, 2010. The Contest Winner will be required to sign and return within seven (7) business days of receipt a notarized Affidavit of Eligibility and any other documents that SPONSOR may reasonably require. If the Contest Winner does not reply to any notification within forty-eight (48) hours, or fails to return any required documentation within seven (7) business days of delivery to the Contest Winner, such Contest Winner may, in the sole discretion of SPONSOR, be disqualified and an alternate Contest Winner may be selected.
All entries must be received on or before 1 June 2010. The selection will be held the week of 6-12 June 2010. Decision of the judges and Sonnet Software, Inc. is final. The grand Prize winner will be notified by phone and/or e-mail and must meet all eligibility requirements. By entering, each contestant agrees to be bound by the rules. Sonnet Software, Inc., its promotional agents and sweepstakes co-sponsors are not responsible for illegible, lost, delayed or misdirected mail, errors in faxes or shipments, busy phone signals, or incomplete entries. First Prize: (One) First Prize winner(s) will each receive one (1) Apple eight (8) GB iPod touch; iPod touch will conform to US power requirements and standards.Second Prize: (One) Second Prize winner(s) will receive a $100 USD gift card to Newegg.com. Third Prize: (One) Third Prize winner(s) will receive a $50 USD gift card to Newegg.com.

Approximate total value of the grand prize is $199.00 USD. First Prize: (One) First Prize winner(s) will receive one (1) $100 gift card to Newegg.com. Approximate total value of the first prize is $100.00 USD.  (One)Second prize winner(s) will receive one (1) $50 gift card to newegg.com. Approximate total value of the first prize is $50.00 USD. There are no other prizes. The Grand Prize is non-transferable. There may be no cash or other substitutions of prizes by winner. However, Sonnet Software, Inc. reserves the right to substitute similar prizes of equal or greater value in the event the above prize is unavailable for any reason. Individual winner is solely responsible for all applicable federal, state and local taxes with respect to entire prize.

Unforeseen Events: Sonnet Software, Inc. reserves the right to change this contest at its sole discretion at any time that Sonnet Software, Inc. become aware of any circumstances or occurrence which would materially affect the sweepstakes security or fairness. Sonnet Software, Inc. reserves the right to announce any sweepstakes rules changes over the air, in print or posters. (Sonnet Software, Inc. is not responsible for the inability of the winner to accept the prize for any reason.

In your request, state that you would like a copy of the "winners list” between 3 February, 2010 and 1 June 2010. General Terms and Conditions: By entering the Contest, each entrant grants permission to the SPONSOR to use his/her name, photograph, likeness, voice, and/or biographical information for SPONSOR's publication, publicity, advertising and all other promotional purposes without compensation, review or approval unless prohibited by law. The SPONSOR reserves the right to terminate, modify or suspend this Contest due to any of an act of God; unavoidable accident; epidemic; fire; blackout; act of public enemy; war, riot or civil commotion; enactment, rule, order or act of government or governmental instrumentality or tribunal; strike, lockout or other labor dispute; inclement weather; the recapture of any time period scheduled for the live broadcast of a program for an event of national importance or emergency; failure of technical facilities; failure of essential production, or technical personnel to appear or be available for production or broadcast; or other cause beyond its control. SPONSOR is not responsible for lost, late, illegible, incomplete, damaged, mutilated, misdirected, mis-delivered, or delayed entries, or for technical or human errors or failures of any kind in connection with the submission, transmission, processing or judging of entries.
Grant of Rights: By submitting a Design entry, the entrant grants to SPONSOR a non-exclusive, assignable, perpetual, license to produce, publish, distribute, transmit, exhibit, exploit, and license the Story and any portions thereof in any format (collectively "distribute" or "distribution," as applicable) by any and all means, uses and media, whether audio, print, audiovisual or otherwise, now or hereafter known, throughout the universe in all languages. Entrant further agrees that Sonnet Software, Inc. shall have the first right to distribute the design unless Sonnet Software, Inc. waives that right, in writing; provided that, Sonnet Software Inc.’s first right to distribute shall automatically expire on 1 January 2013. Entrant retains the copyright and all other rights in the work.
Entrant Representations, Warranties, Indemnification and Release: By entering, each entrant represents and warrants to the SPONSOR that his/her entry is not in violation of or conflict with the trademark, copyright, rights of privacy, rights of publicity or any other rights, of any kind or nature, of any other person or entity. Entrant agrees to defend and indemnify SPONSOR for any breach of the above representations. By submitting an entry, each entrant agrees to indemnify, defend, release, discharge and hold harmless SPONSOR and its parent companies, affiliates, subsidiaries, promotional partners and agents, and all others associated with the development and execution of this Contest, and the officers, directors and employees of each of the foregoing, from any and all claims and liabilities arising from or in connection with participation in this Contest, including without limitation (a) claims for injury, loss or damage of any kind resulting from participation in this Contest or acceptance or use of any prize and (b) claims based on rights of privacy, rights of publicity, false light, defamation, copyright and/or trademark infringement relating to the submission or exploitation of the entrant's concept.
