A subproject in a netlist cannot include an ideal component or a data file component

Symptoms

Incorrect results from a netlist simulation.

Cause

The analysis engine, em, produces incorrect results when the following two conditions are true:

1. The netlist project uses an ABS sweep or hierarchy sweep is disabled.

2. There is at least one subproject used in the netlist which contains an ideal component or a data file component.

Work around

Fixed in Sonnet 11.54.

If you are using version 11.52, one of the following suggestions could help you to avoid fulfilling the error conditions:

1. Use a ports only component type, then use the netlist to connect an ideal element or your data file.

2. Use an S-parameter file for the subproject instead of a project file containing the wrong type of component.
