Parameter Sweep Entry dialog box
Project Editor - Analysis Setup dialog box
The Parameter Sweep Entry dialog box is opened when you select the Add button in the Analysis Setup dialog box when Parameter Sweep is selected as the sweep type. The Parameter Sweep Entry dialog box allows you to set up a new sweep entry or edit an existing sweep entry including the analysis frequencies, which parameters you will vary, and data ranges for those parameters.
Frequency Specification
You may use the following types of frequency sweeps for an parameter sweep analysis: ABS, Linear, Single Frequency, DC Frequency, Exponential, and Linear sweep (# of Points). For details about each type of sweep, click on the appropriate link. A sweep is done for each of the parameter values at each specified frequency.
Parameter Sweep Specifications
This section of the dialog box allows you to specify which parameters vary and the respective data ranges over which the parameters change. At least one parameter must be selected. All the parameters defined in the project appear in the parameter list. For more details about defining parameters, see Tools => Add Parameter.
To include a parameter in the sweep, click on the checkbox in the Sweep column. This enables the corresponding text entry boxes. You enter the starting value (minimum) for the parameter in the Start text entry box, the ending (maximum) value in the Stop text entry box, and the interval between analysis values in the Step text entry box. All three values are floating point numbers. The start value must be less than the stop value. The step value must be greater than zero. The default value for the step is equal to one cell size.
Warning You may specify a step interval that is less than one cell size, but since em subsectioning is limited to no less than one cell, you will in practical terms, simply run the same analysis twice.
The nominal value displayed in the last column is the present value of that parameter as shown in the project editor. If a parameter is not selected to be in the parameter sweep, the nominal value is used for all the analyses.
