Adding SMDs to Your Sonnet Project

Tips and App Notes

If you need to model SMDs in your circuit, you should use the Components feature. The component feature allows you to insert a data file or ideal component into your geometry project. The analysis engine, em, uses circuit theory to attach the specified component to your geometry for the simulation, or creates ports which may be used by a circuit simulation tool.

For a detailed discussion of Components, please refer to the "Components" chapter in the Sonnet User's Guide. Co-calibrated ports are used to implement the Component feature; more information about co-calibrated ports can be found in the "Ports" chapter in the Sonnet User's Guide.
