How do I create a template?
For a description of a template project, see What is a template project?
For instructions on opening a template, see How do I open a template?
To create a template project, do the following:
Open a new circuit in the project editor by selecting File => New from the project editor main menu.
A new project with a blank substrate of 160 mils by a 160 mils are open.
Use the project editor menu to set up the desired properties for the template.
Any aspect of the circuit that remains the same for your projects should be entered. For example, you may always use the same metal types or dielectrics or your substrate may always be the same size.
Once you have set up the desired properties, save the file in a templates directory by selecting File => Save from the project editor main menu.
This may be any directory on your computer, but we recommend putting the templates directory in your working directory:
<working directory>/templates
and use a distinctive name which identifies the template to you. You may have multiple templates in your templates directory.
