Inductance1 is the inductance (in nH) of a one-port or two-port circuit assuming a series RL. Any parasitics to ground at the selected port are included in the inductance calculation. For example, a one-port circuit might contain an extra parasitic, represented by ''Y'' in the following diagram:

where Leq and Req contain the effect of Y. In this case, the inductance1 calculation gives the equivalent inductance, Leq.

This equation is not valid for three or more ports. If the circuit is a two-port, the inductance is computed based on shorting the other port to ground as shown below:
