Project Element

Project Editor - Netlist Mode

This dialog box allows you to add a project element to your netlist. You select the project, define its connections in the netlist and enter any required parameters.

When you select Tools => Add Project Element from the main menu, a Browse window appears on your display which allows you to select the Sonnet project file you wish to use in your network. Once you select a project, the Add/Edit Element dialog box appears on your display, configured to input a project.

Browse: Clicking on this button opens a browse window which allows you to select a project. This allows you to change the project being used.

Node: There is a text entry box for each Port in the circuit and one more for Ground. Enter the node in the netlist to which you wish the port to correspond in the appropriate text entry box. Ground may be connected to GND or to a node in the network.

Element Parameters: If there are parameters defined in the project file you are adding to the network, they appear in this section of the dialog box. Enter the desired nominal value for the parameter in the appropriate text entry box. The value may be either a floating point number or a parameter defined in the netlist project.

Sweep Use: Click on the Use Sweep from this project radio button to use the netlist project's analysis setup when analyzing this project. Click on the Use Sweep from subproject radio button to use the subproject's analysis setup when analyzing it as part of the network. These settings are disregarded if the Hierarchy Sweep is set in the netlist project.

NOTE:            If the subproject specified here is a netlist project, the analysis setup is ALWAYS inherited from the main network regardless of the Sweep Use settings.
