Defining the Substrate

Parent Previous Next

Once you have opened the layout view, you need to define the mapping from ADS to Sonnet and the materials and dielectric layers to be used in your Sonnet em analysis. All of these elements make up the definition of the substrate.

You use the Substrate File Setup dialog box, shown below, to control these settings. You open the dialog box by selecting Sonnet  Setup  Substrate  Edit from the Sonnet menu in the layout window. The main window allows you to define the mapping from ADS to Sonnet. Before you set up the mapping, you should first set up the Sonnet environment to which you will map your ADS layers This consists of setting up the Sonnet Materials (Metal Types) and the Sonnet Layers.
