Parent Previous Next

Selecting View Options from the main menu of the 3D Viewer opens the 3D Options dialog box which allows you to control all the display options for the 3D Viewer.

Hide/Show Objects

This section of the dialog box contains checkboxes for various circuit elements. If the checkbox is selected, then that type of object is displayed in the 3D view. If the checkbox is cleared, then that type of object is not displayed.

Effects

This section of the dialog box contains checkboxes for various effects which can be used for the 3D viewer.  If a check mark is present in the menu, then the effect type is used in the 3D view. If this option is not selected, then that type of effect is not used.. If the checkbox is selected, then that effect is used in the 3D view. If the checkbox is cleared, then that effect is not used.

Colors

This section of the dialog box controls how colors are used in the 3D view.

Use Metals/Brick Colors: Select this radio button if you wish to use colors to identify metal and brick types. For example, any polygon which used the metal type Metal 1 would be drawn in the same color regardless of it's position or level in the circuit.

Use Level Colors: Select this radio button if you wish to use the same color to identify all the objects on a level. A different color is used for each level and all objects on that level, regardless of their type, is drawn using the level color.

Z-Scale

This section of the dialog box controls how the dielectric layers are displayed.

You enter a magnification factor for the dielectric layers here by clicking on the arrow keys or by editing the text entry box. Once the desired magnification has been entered, click on the Set Scale button to apply the Z-scaling to your display. The larger the scale factor, the larger the dielectric layer is displayed. To return to the default magnification of one with the individual layers each having a factor of one, click on the Set Auto Scale button. If you wish to display all the dielectric layers an equal distance apart, no matter their thickness, click on the Set All Levels to Appear Equal button.

Remember Options: Clicking on this checkbox saves any selections you make for the next time this dialog box is accessed.

Restore Defaults: Clicking on this button changes all the settings in this dialog box to the defaults used upon installation of the software.
