Normally, this command should only be used under the direction of a Sonnet Representative.

Use SONNETD_LICENSE_FILE and LM_LICENSE_FILE variables for licensing checkbox: Normally the SONNETD_LICENSE_FILE and LM_LICENSE_FILE environmental variables override any setting created in the License dialog box. But there are circumstances under which you may want to override these variables due to the following:

  1. The variables are set incorrectly, but you do not wish to change them because of the effect on other users. You wish to use the settings input from the License dialog box instead without changing the value of the variables.
  2. The LM_LICENSE_FILE variable is used by any program which is using FLEXnet as its license manager, so other vendor licenses as well as Sonnet are included in the variable. In some cases, this may cause a long delay when obtaining a license. Overriding these variables with the settings from the License dialog box can greatly reduce the amount of time it takes to obtain a license.

To use the licensing set up in the License dialog box, instead of the environmental variables, clear this checkbox. The default setting is that this checkbox is selected so that the variables override any settings done in the License dialog box.

Allows user level changes in the license window even if the licensing was previously setup by the administrator checkbox: This checkbox is only applicable for Windows operating systems. If you are logged on as an administrator when you run the Admin - License command, then the license settings will be used for all the users on this computer. Normally, a user without administrator privileges cannot install a license once an administrator has done so. However, if you need to install a new license and do not have administrator privileges, selecting this checkbox allows you to install a new license and have it override previous settings by the administrator.
