The Goals tab of the Optimization page is opened when you click on the Optimization button in the sidebar menu of the Circuit Settings dialog box, then click on the Goals tab. This tab allows you to set up the analysis frequencies and goals for your optimizations. The controls are explained below.

Analyze with Sweeps: Select this radio button if you wish to just simulate your circuit using the sweeps defined on the Sweeps page. Selecting this radio button disables all other controls on this page. You may click on the link in the radio button to go to the Sweeps page or click on "Sweeps" in the sidebar menu.

Analyze with Optimization: Select this radio button if you wish to perform an optimization on your circuit. Selecting this radio button enables all other controls on this page. The defined frequency sweeps and goals below are used in the analysis.

Add Goal Set: Clicking on this button adds a new goal set to the list, but you will need to define the analysis frequencies and optimization goals. For details on defining your frequencies and optimization goals, see Goal Set. If the check box in front of the goal set is checked it is used in the analysis. If the checkbox is unchecked, the entries are not used in the analysis.

Edit: Click on edit when you wish to change a frequency or goal entry in a goal set. This button is only enabled when a frequency or goal entry is selected. When you click on Edit, inputs are displayed in the entry that allow you to change the settings. For details on these  controls, see Goal Set. You may also double-click on any entry to edit it.

Type: This drop list allows you to select a type of frequency sweep when editing a frequency entry and is only enabled if you are editing a frequency entry. This drop list is disabled when editing a goal. For details on the types of frequency sweeps, see Frequency Sweeps.

When you select a frequency sweep type, the in-line controls are updated to provide inputs for that type of frequency sweep. For more information on the controls, please see Frequency Sweeps. There are six types of frequency sweep available: Adaptive Sweep (ABS), Linear Sweep, Exponential Sweep, Frequency List, Single Frequency, and DC Frequency.

Duplicate: Click on the Duplicate button to create a copy of the presently selected entry. You may use this button to create a copy of a Goal Set, frequency entry or goal entry. The created copy is added to the list.

Move Up: Click on the Move Up button to move the selected entry up one position in the list.

Move Down: Click on the Move Down button to move the selected entry down one position in the list.

Delete: Click on the Delete button to remove the selected entry from the goal set list. You can delete Goal Sets, frequency entries and goal entries.
