Unmap External Files dialog box

Parent Previous Next

If a packed project (.zon) contains files which were originally located above the project directory, those files are saved in the packed project. However, when the project is unpacked, the original location of those files does not exist so the Unpack command places the external files in the project's data folder by default. In this case, the Unmap External Files dialog box appears when the project is opened in Sonnet. This dialog box allows you to either accept the default mapping to the project's data folder or map the external files to a new location.

A list of external files appears in this dialog box. A drop list appears in the action column which allows you to chose where you want to save the external files. The options which appear in the drop list change depending on the conditions when you open the packed project.

Move to Project Folder: If you wish to place the external file in the project folder, select this action from the drop list.

Move to New Location:  If you wish to enter a new location for the external file, enter the folder pathname in the New location text entry box that appears below the list or click on Browse button  to open a browse window that allows you to choose the new location. If you have multiple files that you wish to move to a new location, this option must be selected in the entry for each file. All external files using this option are moved to the location specified in the New location text entry box.

Use Existing Original File: If the external file is present in the same location from which it was packed, the project is set to use the existing file.

Move to Original Location (Overwrite): If the external file is present in the same location from which it was packed and you have write permissions, the packed external file is saved to the same path and overwrites the file on your computer.

Move to Original Location: If the directory from which the external file was copied exists on your computer, but the file is not present in that directory, the external file is copied to that directory.

Once the location is specified, click on the Proceed and Save Project button to complete the unpacking project and write the external files to the specified location.
