Parameter Sweep

Parent Previous Next

You may choose a number of different sweep types for a parameter sweep. The most common type of sweep used for a parameter sweep is an ABS Sweep.  For more information about parameter sweeps, please see Parameterizing your Project.

The following example assumes that you have already defined the parameter “Width” in your circuit. For more information on inputting a parameter, please refer to Variables.

To select ABS for a parameter sweep, do the following:

    1.   Select Circuit  Settings from the project editor main menu.

The Circuit Settings dialog box appears on your display.
    2.   Click on Sweeps in the side bar menu of the Circuit Settings dialog box.

The appearance of the dialog box is updated with the sweeps page.
    3.   If it is not already selected, select the Perform parameter sweeps checkbox.

When this checkbox is selected, a variable section is added to each sweep set which allows you to select the variables you wish to use in the parameter sweep and define the type and range of values.
    4.   Click on the Add Sweep Set button in the tool bar of the Sweeps page.

A new sweep set is added to the list The sweep set contains a frequency and variable section.

    5.   Select Adaptive Sweep (ABS) from the Add Frequency drop list to select an adaptive frequency sweep.

An entry for the ABS sweep is added to the Frequency section.
    6.   Enter the frequency band for the ABS in the Start and Stop text entry boxes.

    7.   Select any variables you wish to use in the parameter sweep by selecting the checkbox for that variable entry.

When a variable is selected, the entry is changed from Fixed to Lin. A linear variable sweep is the default. To select another type of sweep, you may click on the Parameter sweep drop list and select another type.
    8.   Double-click on the variable entry to enter the values you wish to use for the parameter sweep.

For details on the parameter sweep entries see Parameter Sweeps.

This completes setting up an ABS frequency sweep for the parameter sweep.
