The Cadence Virtuoso Interface allows you to use Sonnet’s analysis engine, em, from within the Cadence Virtuoso environment. This tutorial provides you with an example of a basic translation and analysis of a cell view in Cadence. The whole process from creating a SonnetEM view to creating a model symbol with the analysis results is covered.

This tutorial assumes that you are already familiar with using Cadence Virtuoso and that Sonnet’s Cadence Virtuoso Interface is already installed. The Cadence Virtuoso Interface is automatically installed when you perform your Sonnet Suites Installation. Please refer to the Linux Installation Manual for instructions on installing Sonnet software. However, you do need to ensure that the Cadence Virtuoso Interface is loaded when you start Cadence Virtuoso. For instructions, please see Loading the Cadence Virtuoso Interface in Cadence.
