Capacitance1 is one of the measurements available in the Manage Curves dialog box of a Graph Tab. Capacitance1 is the capacitance of a one-port or two-port circuit assuming a series RC.  The units are based on the Capacitance units setting. Any parasitics to ground at the selected port are included in the capacitance calculation. For example, a one-port circuit might contain an extra parasitic, represented by ''Y'' in the following diagram:

where Ceq and Req contain the effect of Y. In this case, the capacitance1 calculation gives the equivalent capacitance, Ceq.

This measurement is not valid for three or more ports. If the circuit is a two-port, the capacitance is computed based on shorting the other port to ground as shown below:


Capacitance1 is computed as follows:



where Ynn is the y-parameter for selected port n from the Ports section of the Properties pane below.
