In order to use Sonnet, you need to install your license. The License pane is used to install your license and for other licensing tasks. It contains the following five tabs:

  • Setup: The Setup tab is used to install your license. See Licensing for details on installing your license.
  • Host IDs: The Host IDs tab lists out all of the host ids of your computer. You enter your Host ID in the License Request form you send to Sonnet. See Obtaining Your Host ID for more information.
  • License ID: The License ID tab displays your License ID. Your License ID is a string that uniquely identifies your license. You should include your License ID whenever communicating with Sonnet Tech Support or Sales. You will also need your License ID when requesting a license renewal.
  • Status: The Status tab shows the status of your license manager. This is only applicable if your computer is acting as a license server.
  • Restrict Suite: The Restrict Suite tab allows you to restrict your license to a lower level license. This could be useful if you are using an evaluation license and would like to try the capabilities of various licenses.

Icon Threads

The Threads pane of the Sonnet Administration dialog box allows you to limit the number of threads used by the EM solver.

Threads to use: This drop list contains the numbers one through the maximum number of threads available on your computer. The maximum number is determined by Sonnet based solely on your hardware configuration; this number is not related to the number and/or type of Sonnet licenses. If you wish to limit the number of threads available for the EM solver in order to leave some threads open for other work, then select the desired number of threads from this drop list. Using all of your available threads to perform Sonnet processing may lead to slower response times for other tasks.
