Remote EM Overview
Remote EM computing is only available if your Sonnet license file includes a floating EM solver license. You may test to see if you have access to remote EM computing by selecting Admin > Setup > [Em Server Settings] and clicking the Test License button.
It is possible to edit your project on a local computer and then run the EM analysis on a remote server on your network. A common reason for doing this is that there is a faster computer on your network on which you want to run your analyses, but the faster computer is in an inconvenient location or shared by multiple users. So you may want to continue editing your projects on the computer at your desk. Remote EM computing allows you to do this.
If the project you are analyzing uses a Modelithics model component, then both the analysis server and client computer where the project is edited require a Modelithics license.
We refer to the computer on your desk as the "EM client" computer and the remote computer as the "EM server" computer.
In order to use remote EM processing, you should follow this procedure:
Install Sonnet on the EM server(s) and the EM clients(s).
Configure the EM server.
You should then set up the EM server computer on which you will run the analyses .See Configuring Remote EM Servers.
Configure the EM client(s).
After setting up the EM server(s), you should set up the EM client computer(s) on which you will edit projects and from which you will submit your analysis jobs. See Configuring Remote EM Clients.
