Selecting an EM Server

The Select Server dialog box appears when you open a new queue and have at least one remote EM server defined.

The dialog box displays a list of all defined EM servers, including your local computer, identified as "This computer" in the server list. You select the EM server you wish to use. If you wish to see the status of a remote server, select it in the list and click on the Remote Status button. A window appears with the status of the remote server displayed. To update the statuses of all the servers in the list, click on the Refresh Statuses button. An icon appears for each EM server line. The meaning of each icon is explained in the following table:

IconMeaning
Green CheckboxThe EM server is up and it is not busy with other jobs. The server will run your job immediately.
Hour glassThe EM server is up, but it is busy processing one or more jobs. The present jobs will have to finish before your job will start.
Red XThe client cannot connect to the EM server. The EM server could be down, or there could be a problem with your network connection.
