De-embedding Codes
There are certain situations for which em is unable to obtain accurate de-embedded results. Em will usually, but not always, detect these situations and replace any suspect results with a message. The type of message indicates the reason that em is unable to determine the de-embedded results. There are several cases in which the S-parameter data is valid, but for which the transmission line parameters may not be calculated.
You may have received this type of message when running an analysis or when opening data in the response viewer. Follow the links below for descriptions of the various de-embedding codes. Many of the messages are caused by improper calibration standard lengths. The subject of de-embedding is covered in detail in the "De-embedding" chapter in the Sonnet User's Guide. Sonnet's User's Manuals are available in PDF format by clicking on the Manuals button on the Sonnet task bar or selecting Help => Manuals from any Sonnet application.
