Sonnet DXF to Extended Gerber File Converter
Customers using design/layout applications such as the Mentor Graphics Boardstation application, are sometimes confronted with the issue of moving a circuit design in Sonnet's project editor to the design/layout application. A free translator, Sonnet-DXF to Extended Gerber RS274X, enables you to transfer your Sonnet geometries to any application which supports the Extended Gerber RS274X file format through the intermediate DXF file format. The Sonnet-DXF to Extended Gerber RS274X translator will read DXF files containing geometry information (which you export through Sonnet's DXF file export capability), and creates an Extended Gerber ( RS274X) file that is suitable for import into your design/layout application..
An in-depth user's manual for Sonnet-DXF to Extended Gerber RS274X with detailed instructions on how to import the layout file into Mentor Graphics Boardstation is included with this download. Examples are also shown and provided for taking a DXF file, converting to the Extended Gerber RS274X format, importing this file into Mentor Boardstation, and adding the design to the Mentor design librarian.
The output files created by this translator can also be used with other PCB systems which can import RS274X Extended Gerber, but the default naming scheme is customized for Mentor Boardstation.
Sonnet-DXF to Extended Gerber RS274X converts DXF files created by either PC or UNIX versions of Sonnet.

The download is a zip archive file. After downloading, unpack the data to a local directory. Install the translator by executing the file "SETUP.EXE" in the directory to which you unpacked the download.
REQUIREMENTS: PC Winows. 8 MB RAM minimum. 1 MB Hard disk storage space. Sonnet-DXF to Extended Gerber RS274X is not supported for UNIX workstations, but it will read geometry files created by UNIX versions of Sonnet.
