Release Notes - 12.01 Beta
Platforms
This release only supports the Windows XP (32 and 64 bit) operating system. The final release will support Windows XP, Windows Vista, Red Hat Linux, SUSE Linux, and Solaris. However, multithreading will not be supported in Solaris.
New Variable Feature Limitations
Some new variable features are not supported in this beta release. See the list below for specifics:
Geometry Projects: Dimension parameters are completely supported. Variables (those affecting circuit properties, not geometry dimensions) are not supported for optimization or the far field viewer.
Netlist Projects: Variables have not been tested for this beta and there are known problems. Please contact Sonnet support for more information.
Variables in Box Top and Bottom Metal: When you use a variable in the definition of your top or bottom box metal, the project is saved incorrectly. Therefore, you should not use variables in the definition of a metal type used for either the box top or bottom.
Variables in Dielectric Bricks: When you use a variable in the definition of dielectric brick material, the project is input incorrectly. Therefore, you should not use variables in the definition of a dielectric brick material.
Table Function
If you use the table function available for variable equations in the project editor, the data source file used for the lookup function must reside in the same directory as the project file.
