Sonnet Lite Applications

Here are a few circuits that can be analyzed with Sonnet Lite.

2-Turn Spiral Inductor with Air-Bridge

inductor

This example shows a 1.5-turn microstrip series-configuration spiral inductor on undoped silicon (er = 10.2).

Interdigital Bandpass Filter

filter

This example shows an interdigital bandpass filter on er = 2.0 material with a thickness of 40 mils.

Branchline Coupler

Branchline Coupler

This example shows a microstrip branchline coupler on alumina (er = 9.8) material with a thickness of 25 mils.

Interdigitated Capacitor

Interdigitated Capacitor

This example is an interdigitated capacitor composed of seven closely coupled parallel lines.

Via Connected to Ground

Via Connected to Ground

The circuit shows a microstrip line connected to a via to ground. The top of the via has a pad which is larger than the via itself.

Hairpin Filter

Hairpin Filter

This is an example of a hairpin filter with a pass-band of approximately 4.0 to 4.15 GHz.

Resonator

Resonator

This is an example of a single compact resonator.

MIM Capacitor

MIM Capacitor

This example is an MIM capacitor which is composed of two parallel plates with a dielectric layer between the plates.

Notched Resistor

Notched Resistor

This example is of a notched resistor (tuned by a laser, perhaps).

Double Folded Stub Tuner

Double Folded Stub Tuner

This example circuit is used in the Sonnet tutorial to teach the basics of creating and analyzing a circuit.

Short Circuited Shunt Connected Stub

Short Circuited Shunt Connected Stub

This is an example of a short circuited shunt connected stub. The stub wraps around, connects to a MIM capacitor, and then is connected to ground with a via.
